The Cliff College annual staff v student football game kicked off on Wednesday, bringing all of community together to raise money for a good cause.
The six aside match resulted in a 6:5 score, giving the Cliff staff their third win in a row. Man of the match, Nic Parsons (aka Nic the gardener), pulled out all the best saves to ensure a solid win for the staff.
The money raised will be going to a friend of the college from Chesterfield, who is facing a complex health condition requiring urgent specialist care in London. We are pleased to be able to show generosity beyond our small community, to bless the family as they spend time in hospital over the Christmas period. Donations from players, spectators and a cake stall have enabled us to raise an amount that will be confirmed and revealed next week.
BA student and friend, Megan, said: “I can’t tell you how much this means to the family, I cannot describe how grateful we all are and what a real difference it makes to her treatment.”
A huge thank you to everyone who came to support the event and special thanks to the players!
