Graduation 2012

We loved being able to celebrate the college graduation on Wednesday 27th June. The weather stayed fine (despite the typical Derbyshire forecasts of rain!) and we had a great day with the many students who graduated, from undergraduates to PhD students. If you go to the college Facebook page (click to redirect) you'll be able to see the photos uploaded from the day.

Festival 2012 - Were you here?

We've been reading the comments, letters and feedback you've sent or posted on Facebook, and we are gratified that so many of you were able to come and share our Festival on the Jubilee Weekend, and blessed that so many of you had such a positive experience. There was so much feedback, we felt it was easier to tell the story in your words - not ours, so we've published just some of the comments we've recieved on the main Festival page (click here to go there). We've also put some of the many photos taken - to view on the bottom of this news item and on the Festival page. If you are a Facebook user and you've not already done so, please tell us what you found positive from the whole event (click here to go to the facebook page) or write/email us directly at the college (address below). This feedback is really helpful to us as it enables us to continue developing Festival, both in the areas we feel are the right thing to do, and also in any areas you feel we could develop further.

New Book - 'Now That Was Worship'

Steve Emmery-Wright, one of our Faculty, has just had a new book published.

Now That Was Worship Book Cover

Now THAT Was Worship examines young people's reactions and attitudes towards the worship they experience.  It then reflects on their comments and seeks to understand how they engage in and how they might be empowered to worship.  It is clearly a book for individuals and churches that work with young people - but it is also a book which offers insights and ways forward for us all.  Through this study, young people provide a window on church worship, revealing how they create worship, who they create it for and the culture in which it is created.  This book is therefore an important tool to help the whole church understand its worship, identify what may be wrong with it and discover how it can be developed and changed.

The book is available to buy from Moorleys online bookshop. Click here for the link.
