Effective use of Technology in Church

This is a ten week course, covering basic skills that will aid and equip people in using technical equipment in church. The aim of the course is to facilitate worship and to enable greater accessibility to a wider audience/congregation.

Most weeks will have an introduction/theoretical element, followed by a practical session where participants are given the opportunity to set up and use equipment for themselves.

The course will include:

  • Basic PA - What it is, what you can do and how to make the best use of it
  • Radio microphones
  • Recording
  • Displaying visual elements
  • Powerpoint and other slideshow software
  • Lighting - a very, very brief introduction!
  • Online resources
  • Electrics and safety

This course is aimed at a broad spectrum of people, so whether you are new to all of this, or you want to consolidate your existing understanding, there should be something for everyone. Obviously this is only an introductory course, so we won't aim to go into too much detail, and risk confusing anyone!

For those wanting to go more in-depth, we are hoping to follow up the course with a 'masterclass', with a professional sound engineer, who will go into more detail in using PA equipment, and how to acheive better results. More information on this soon.
