Short courses
In September 2010 Cliff began offering a variety of short courses, some of which complement current student studies, but all of which are open to anyone - whether you are currently a Cliff student or not.
Some these are evening classes, details of which are listed here, and the next year's course supjects include background to the New Testament, and 'Effective use of Technology in Church' - which will look at how to get the best from things such as PA equipment, computers and projection. Application details and a downloadable poster for you to use are available on the left of this page.
We will again be hosting the 'Training the trainer' course, spread over a three-day and two-day block; in March (19th - 21st) and in June (19th - 20th). More details are available by downloading the flyer on the left of this page, and application forms are also available from Helen Phipps on 01246 584216 or email postgrad@cliffcollege.ac.uk
Summer School 20-24 June 2011
In June 2011 we hosted the first of an annual series of 'Summer Schools'.
The Bible Summer School ‘Encounters with the Word’ was led by Ian White (Programme Leader, Vocational Ministry Courses) & Piers Lane (Director of Evangelism).
During the week the course covered:
- Ways of handling the Bible
- Overviews of the Old and New Testaments
- A closer look at the Prophets, the Psalms, the Gospels and Paul’s letters
- Digging Deeper into Genesis and Romans
- Readings in Mission and Evangelism
The week also included a performance reading of The Gospel of Mark on Wednesday evening which will be an event open to the whole Cliff and wider community.
You might be contemplating a course here at Cliff – maybe this is a way to get to know the college, and gear up for study? You might be on a Cliff course already, but want further biblical knowledge? Maybe you are studying as a Methodist Local Preacher, or just want a refresher course for your worship and preaching? You might even just want to come on a study retreat to beautiful Derbyshire. This course is designed for all of you. The popularity of this course has almost certainly guaranteed a simliar course being run next year, so why not join us in 2012?
