In 2013 we are offering a further expansion of the Summer School programme, which has been so successful in the last few years. Co-ordinated by Ian White and drawing on the teaching skills and expertise of Cliff College tutorial staff and guest lecturers, the 2013 Summer School will include five strands of teaching to choose from:

Encounters with The Word: Bible Summer School

An overview of the story of scripture helping participants to handle biblical text in a deeper and more creative way. Ideal for those wanting a better understanding of the Bible, for fellowship group leaders and trainee preachers too.

Hebrew in a Week: Biblical Language Summer School

A framework to begin exploring the language of the Old Testament. Ideal for those wanting a starter course in this key area, for fellowship group leaders and preachers too.

Worship Matters: Worship Summer School

An opportunity to explore understandings of worship, the importance of worship in the life of the Christian community, and different ways of creating and offering worship. Ideal for worship leaders, and those with a desire to explore new ways of worship.

Real Christianity: Wesley Summer School

An exploration into the story, spirituality and impact of John and Charles Wesley, with practical implications for the life of discipleship in the 21st century. ideal for those wanting to better understand the Wesleyan tradition and its continuing relevance for today.

Thinking it through: Theology Summer School

An opportunity to discover more about important Christian doctrines, such as the nature of God, the importance of the cross and an understanding of the Trinity. Ideal for all who want to dig a little deeper into the key themes of the Christian faith.

All participants will share together in social times, meals, devotions, evening worship and a shared event during the week. Don't worry, there's even time to go off site to Chatsworth or the local coffee shop! The strands will be delivered through approximately 1012 separate seminars, discussion groups, interactive workshops and lectures.
