Introduction to Pastoral Care

We are delighted to introduce our first ‘Introduction to Pastoral Care’ training day entitled ‘Let’s Talk, Let’s Listen’ and invite you to explore this important area of Christian ministry.

Pastoral Care is at the very heart of mission and ministry, born out of compassionate care and nurtured in the relationships we foster within our families, churches, and communities. This introductory day offers a creative approach to understanding more about the nature and development of pastoral care. During the day, there will opportunity to develop some of the essential communication skills require to create effective caring relationships within ministry.

Course Details

Sessions for the day will include:

  1. Creating a Caring relationship
  2. Communication Skills in Pastoral Care
  3. Caring with Compassion
  4. Bonds, Boundaries and Balance in the emotional worlds of care ministry

The day will be led by our good friend Jennie Fytche. Jennie is a trainer and mentor in pastoral care ministry based in Lincolnshire. She originally trained as a nurse and later studied theology. Jennie has been actively serving God in pastoral care ministry for many years and in different contexts. Jennie has recently been appointed as the lead for training and development for Evergreen Care Trust which is committed to promoting healthy aging through various health and social care initiatives (www.evergreencare.org.uk). She is passionate about encouraging individuals of all ages to encounter God, be transformed by Him and go on to fulfill their God-given potential.

‘This training event equips individuals, churches, and organisations which at their heart wish to flourish and desire for every person to be the person God created them to be.’ Jennie Fytche
