Off site, there are opportunities to visit the national attraction Chatsworth House, just around the corner, go into Bakewell, just 7 miles away, whilst Curbar and Froggatt Edge are just a short walk away for those wanting to put on their boots.
Are you studying to become a Methodist Local Preacher or Worship leader? Then the ‘Worship: Leading and Preaching’ Summer School is for you! Open to all aged 18 years +.
‘Worship: Leading and Preaching’. Led by a team from the Discipleship & Ministries Learning Network of the Methodist Church, and headed up by Bob Bartindale, lead officer for Worship Leaders and Local Preachers in the Methodist Church, Worship: Leading and Preaching is the authorised course for Worship Leaders and Local Preachers in the Methodist Church.
The ‘Worship: Leading and Preaching’ Summer School is designed specifically for those who are currently training to be Worship Leaders and Preachers. During the week, the sessions will be based on the “Explore” material in Worship Leading and Preaching, and will assume that students have completed the “Prepare” sections prior to the Summer School. Opportunities for discussion about building portfolios and other aspects of the course will also be available, and we will share worship and fellowship together. A great opportunity to meet with others from around the country who are in training.
Three streams will be provided for Worship: Leading & Preaching, covering (i) Modules 1 & 2, (ii) Modules 3 & 4, and (iii) Modules 5 & 6.
For our fourth stream, we are privileged to welcome Andrew Roberts, author of “Holy Habits”, which has received excellent reviews as a guide to practical discipleship. Andrew will be exploring how spirituality and discipleship fit together in the lives of those responsible for leading worship and preaching. An excellent refresher for all those who are already serving as Local Preachers or Worship Leaders. More information on Holy Habits can be found here: http://www.holyhabits.co.uk
Ian White, Cliff College Senior Tutor acts as the the Summer School Co-ordinator, and looks forward to welcoming you on site.
