Revd Canon Dr Nigel Rooms leads the ‘partnership for missional church’ process for Church Mission Society, designed to challenge the way the Church thinks about and responds to mission in post-Christian Britain. He has over a decade of experience in senior church and missional consultancy within the Church of England, and also seven years of cross-cultural mission and leadership experience in Tanzania.
He speaks Kiswahili fluently and has interests in the African church and its theology. He researches and writes on mission, ministry, contextual theology, theological education, and the relationship between Christian faith and culture. He is the editor of the internationally respected academic journal, Practical Theology (Taylor & Francis).
