Cliff College, situated in Calver in the Hope Valley, is a a busy College with a 50 bed conference centre and student accommodation for 30 residential students. We operate a seven day a week operation, catering for a wide range of customers including students, staff, conferences and other guests. We also have a number of special events throughout the year including graduation, Christmas and Cliff Festival.
As a chef you are at the heart of our operation and you will contribute to our ongoing success. You’ll be working in our friendly team and sharing your passion as a foodie. You will be able to handle a busy service and work alongside the other kitchen team members. You will have a good understanding of health & safety and hygiene standards. You'll be working in a small friendly team and have the experience to be able to handle a busy service serving customers on a counter style service working alongside the other chefs. This position is an ideal opportunity for someone who is just starting their career in the hospitality and catering industry as further training can be offered on site.
Requirements, responsibilities and application details
We are looking for someone with the following qualities and experience:
- someone who is reliable, patient and has a positive attitude;
- someone who is proactive and has good personal hygiene;
- someone who can assist in all areas of the kitchen, including washing-up, food preparation and cleaning;
- someone who is able to work as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
- someone with a food hygiene certificate - this would be an advantage but the certificate can be obtained after application.
This position is a full-time role, working a 35 hour week including weekends but with no late-night finishes. The annual salary for this role is £18,500.
