Hiring: Teaching Fellow in A Methodist Way of Life and Cliff Year Community Lead

Cliff College is now seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in A Methodist Way of Life and Cliff Year Community Lead (three-year fixed term).

Set in the beautiful Peak District in Derbyshire, Cliff College is a Methodist and evangelical learning community, rooted in God’s Word and Spirit. The programmes of Cliff College seek to form and equip students for the practice and leadership of Christian mission and evangelism in contemporary contexts. Offering a range of recently renewed programmes of theological and practical study – both onsite and online – the College continues to build on its heritage to establish its position as a global centre for evangelism and missiology.

Cliff College is seeking to further invest in the development and delivery of the Cliff Year programme as a gap year for intentional Christian formation and missional action, structured by A Methodist Way of Life. We are also looking to increase our faculty capacity in an area of subject expertise related to A Methodist Way of Life (e.g. faith formation and Christian discipleship; public theology; theological ethics; Christianity and contemporary culture). This three-year Teaching Fellow and Cliff Year Community Lead post provides an exciting opportunity to contribute focused teaching and learning that supports the formation of young adult and intergenerational discipleship, while at the same time embodying this formation in the practical leadership of a small (five-eight persons) gap year community.

It is intended that this Teaching Fellow post may act as an early academic career post, providing experience of teaching and learning in the innovative environment of Cliff College’s dual-delivery (online and onsite) academic programmes. Accommodations can be made for candidates who have not yet completed a PhD in a relevant area.
