The Samuel Chadwick Lecture 2023
Our annual Samuel Chadwick Lecture will take place on Tuesday 17 October 2023. The theme will be The Gospel in a Material World, and this year the lecture can be attended onsite at Cliff College or online via Zoom.

The keynote speaker for this event will be Dr Ben Pugh, lecturer at Cliff College and author of several books including Pictures of Atonement and The Beauty of God. Dr Pugh will be speaking on how the gospel message might be communicated and received in a Western materialistic culture, and particularly how the Eastern Orthodox theology of 'deification', or participation in the divine, might be good news to those steeped in this culture. The formal response will be from Rev Andre Adefope, PhD candidate at Cliff College.
Timetable for the day
10:45am - those attending onsite arrive and gather for coffee.
11:15am - Zoom call opens for those attending online.
11:20am - the annual Samuel Chadwick lecture, delivered by Dr Ben Pugh.
12:10pm - break.
12:15pm - formal response from Rev Andre Adefope.
12:30pm - opportunity for Q&A.
12:45pm - event ends and Zoom call closes. Those attending onsite are welcome to stay for a complementary lunch.
