Ian White has had links with the College since the late 1970’s having come to faith under the ministry of a Cliff evangelist. He was a full-time Cliff student back in the 1980’s where he acted as Student Chairman, and a part-time postgraduate MA in Evangelism Studies student at the college in the 1990’s.

Since 1999 Ian has been a College lecturer at Cliff College, and joined the full-time College faculty in 2001 where he continued his lecturing ministry as well as acting as Personal Tutor and Course Director on the BA in Biblical and Evangelistic Ministry & BA in Mission and Ministry courses and as Programme Leader on the Cliff College Short Course programme.

In summer 2022 Ian stepped back from his full time role and became the College's Mission and Ministry Consultant, advocating for the College and continuing to lecture and support a number of offsite Cliff College certificates and diplomas both in the UK, and in Europe.

With a long personal involvement in the Middle East, Ian is unit tutor for the College teaching trip focussed in Israel/Palestine. The ‘Luke in the Holy Land’ teaching week is an optional course offered to undergraduate students and Methodist guests on a biannual basis.

Ian has special interests in social justice and peacemaking, Christian leadership and ministry, spirituality and discipleship as well as community engagement.

Ian is the Executive Director of Micah68, a Christian organisation offering support to the people of the Middle East. This ministry focuses on advocacy, friendship and practical support for a variety of projects across Israel, Palestine, Jordan and Egypt. Through Micah68 Trading he also supports and promotes a fair trade organisation in Bethlehem, Palestine.

Ian is a Methodist Local Preacher, drummer and occasional guitarist, and worships at a local Methodist church in Sheffield.
