Creative Arts Retreat 2019. A Cliff College weekend with a difference. A time to create, and a time to reflect in Advent.
Here’s what some previous participants have to say about the retreat:
‘Good balance of prayer, reflective time, discussion and creative activity. The freedom of “playing” with different materials was perfect’;’Enough time to feel like we’ve made progress and achieved something’; ‘Space to think about what creativity means to me’.
After five successful retreat weekends, the college are pleased to announce another Creative Arts retreat weekend in 2019. The weekend of 29th November-1st December 2019 has space for up to 20 people to create and reflect together, within the beautiful setting of Cliff College.
A weekend of making, crafting, creating, talking and exploring about Jesus, creativity, ourselves and the things that matter. A weekend to connect with others over crafting tables, drink tea, have space and time with God whilst enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Cliff College here in Derbyshire. A weekend for everyone who loves making and creating, thinking and talking about faith. A weekend to encourage and affirm creativity in our faith journey whilst making and creating together. A weekend for those who are creative, or long to be; for those who make and create as a hobby or as paid work. All with an Advent theme.
Hosted by Cliff College, and led by Rev Sam Tredwell, this Friday – Sunday weekend will include devotions, conversations, hands on creativity and space for personal reflection.
Samantha Tredwell has long loved painting, making, sewing and all things creative, and is a graduate of the University of Manchester Creative Arts, Mission and Ministry diploma course taken here at Cliff College. She is very influenced by Messy Church ideas of learning and exploring the Bible, and enjoys Godly Play. In her spare time (!) she is an Anglican vicar in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, as well as having an important job within the Derby Diocese.
