During the week free resources will be on offer to support Bible reading, as well as a pop-up Bookshop carrying a variety of resources on site mid week, and an opportunity to support the work of Micah68 in the Middle East with olive wood gifts from Palestine.
Explorations in the Word; Ephesians – Led by our Cliff College Faculty member and Lecturer in Theology Dr Ben Pugh, this course digs into Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. Exploring the historical context, Paul’s knowledge of the church in Ephesus and the key themes of this important letter, you will come away informed, encouraged, and refreshed. It is an excellent study course, and is ideal for those wanting to ‘go deeper’ into the Bible, for those leading groups or have a preaching call, and those preparing to embark on a study course at Cliff.
Greek in a Week; Biblical Language – Led by New Testament scholar and former Cliff College Faculty member Rev Dr Peter Ensor, who has recently returned from being Senior Lecturer at Kenya Methodist University teaching Biblical Languages and New Testament studies, this course offers a framework to begin exploring the language of the New Testament. Ideal for those wanting a starter course in this New Testament language, and for fellowship group leaders and preachers too.
Engaging with the Word; Creative Bible reading – Led by Rev Dr Mike Parsons who has in recent times been the Commissioning Editor for BRF, and before that taught Systematic Theology in Murdoch University and Vose Seminary, Perth, Western Australia. The week will explore what sort of book the Bible is, how the Bible can fit better into our spiritual life, how it can strengthen our personal discipleship, and will introduce the participants to a variety of different reading strategies. Ideal for church members wanting to read their Bibles in a more creative way, for small group leaders, worship leaders and preachers.
The three teaching streams will be delivered by Cliff College Faculty and expert guest lecturers, all drawn together by Ian White, Senior Tutor at Cliff College who acts as the Cliff Summer School Co-ordinator, and looks forward to welcoming you on site.
