Worship: Leading & Preaching student testimonies

It’s been amazing to be surrounded by people equally as enthusiastic in seeking God’s calling and being taught by such knowledgeable and passionate facilitators’, ‘Spending this time at Cliff has reaffirmed my calling’,’Really encouraged and energised. Loved the age range as I come from an elderly church’, ‘I have felt very encouraged and I have been empowered by God to believe and trust Him more than I did before. It is wonderful to be with fellow Christians. I feel encouraged and hope I encouraged others too’,’I have enjoyed meeting others on a similar journey. I feel that my calling has been affirmed and I can tackle the course with much greater confidence going forwards. I look forward to returning next year for modules 3 & 4. Tutors could not be more helpful. I feel very blessed’.

Course Details

As well as the dynamic teaching, participants share in social times, meals, devotions, evening worship and reflection. Off site, there are opportunities to visit the national attraction Chatsworth House, just around the corner, go into Bakewell, just 7 miles away, whilst Curbar and Froggatt Edge are just a short walk away for those wanting to put on their boots.

Worship: Leading & Preaching. Led by a team from the Learning Network of the Methodist Church, and headed up by the Course Leader Bob Bartindale, Officer for Worship and Local Preachers in the Methodist Church, Worship: Leading & Preaching is the authorised course for Worship Leaders and Local Preachers in the Methodist Church.

The Worship: Leading & Preaching Spring School is designed specifically for those who are currently training to be Worship Leaders and Local Preachers in the Methodist Church.  During the week, the sessions will be based on the “Explore” material in the Worship: Leading & Preaching course, and will assume that students have completed the “Prepare” sections prior to the Spring School.  Opportunities for discussion about building portfolios and other aspects of the course will also be available, and we will share worship and fellowship together.  A great opportunity to meet with others from around the country who are in training.

Complementing the WLP Summer School, the WLP Spring School offers four streams covering (i) Modules 1 & 2 (ii) Modules 3 & 4, (iii) Modules 5 & 6, and (iv) Modules 7 & 8. This enables Local Preachers in training to complete the whole course during intensive weeks based at Cliff College over two years, or within one year as part of the WLP in a Year scheme.

Welcomed by Ian White, Senior Tutor, the college chaplain Deacon David Hunt acts as the WLP Spring School Course Host.
