The Samuel Chadwick Lecture 2026
The annual Samuel Chadwick Lecture will take place on Friday 16 October 2026. The theme will be A Pentecostal Spirit: reimagining mission with, to and from the edges as a Wesleyan Imperative, and this year the lecture can be attended onsite at Cliff College or online via Teams.

The keynote speaker for this event will be Revd Dr Dierdre Brower-Latz, Principal and Senior Lecturer in Pastoral and Social Theology at Nazarene Theological College in Manchester. Rev. Dr. Deirdre Brower Latz’s research primarily focuses on the intersection of theology and social issues, particularly in urban contexts, and the lecture will draw on this research. The formal response will be from Rev Dr Andrew Stobart, principal of Cliff College.
Timetable for the day
11:00am - those attending onsite arrive and gather for coffee.
11:20am - Teams call opens for those attending online.
11:30am - the annual Samuel Chadwick lecture, delivered by Revd Dr Dierdre Brower-Latz.
12:15pm - formal response from Rev Dr Andrew Stobart.
12:45pm - opportunity for Q&A.
1:00pm - event ends and Teams call closes. Those attending onsite are welcome to stay for a complimentary lunch.
