Bursaries and financial support

Cliff College offers a range of bursaries and scholarships to enable students to access high quality theological education and training.

Applications for scholarships and bursaries should normally be received by 1 August, and will be allocated by 15 August. Unless otherwise stated, students should apply for financial support after accepting an offer of study from Cliff College; information will be sent to offer-holders about applying for these schemes. Foundations for Mission and MinistryLay Ministry Bursary*£150 per year, awarded annually
  • Applicant is in a recognised ministry post (paid or voluntary) in any church
Foundations for Mission and MinistryMethodist Bursary*Variable up to £160 per unit or £600 per year
  • Applicant is supported by their Methodist district or circuit in pursuing this training

*These bursaries can be applied for alongside the application for the Foundations for Mission and Ministry programme; they should be supported by a letter from your church leader.

  • Evidenced commitment to Christian mission
  • Commitment to Cliff College community role during scholarship year (may include hospitality, worship, library, estates, missions)
  • Open to full-time residential students

  • Evidenced commitment to Christian mission
  • Commitment to Cliff College community role during scholarship year (may include hospitality, worship, library, estates, missions)
  • Open to new full-time residential students completing the MA in one year
