Dr. Kirsi Cobb joined Cliff College in September 2013.
Originally from Finland, Kirsi moved to the UK in 1999 to pursue a BA in theology. She is a recent graduate from the University of Wales, Bangor, where she completed her doctorate in 2012. Her PhD is entitled ‘A Woman on the Border: A Feminist-Structuralist-Deconstructive Reading of the Character of Miriam in Exodus 2:1-10; 15:20-21 and Numbers 12:1-16.’
Whilst working towards her PhD, Kirsi also trained as an English teacher. She has taught complete beginners to advanced students at various centres around Sheffield including the ELTC (University of Sheffield) and Sheffield International College. She has also served as a visiting lecturer at Iso Kirja Bible College in Finland where she taught biblical interpretation as well as research methods, and has authored several articles for Ristin Voitto, a prominent Finnish Pentecostal Newspaper.
Kirsi’s main research interests are women’s studies and biblical interpretation. She lives in Sheffield with her husband Stuart with whom she shares a passion for finding ever new ways to apply Scripture to everyday life.
