Festival is an amazing event only made possible by the hard work of lots of people, and you can be part of the Festival team. Here’s how:
We need people who are energetic and enthusiastic and who love children to volunteer on our children’s and/or youth programme. It’s hard work but lots of fun and you’ll be part of a team led by experts. The programme runs mornings and evenings, with some work in the afternoons, but you would have most of the afternoons to explore the rest of the Festival. You can specify your preferred age group (3-4s, 5-11s, 11-14s, 15+) and you’ll need a DBS that is less than two years old.
We need help with the very important smaller people. There is no formal programme, but we need help staffing a space specifically for under 3s. You’ll need a DBS that is less than two years old.
We need sensitive and mature people who are good at praying with people during the weekend. There are specific slots during the day, but particularly after the evening celebrations. We also need people to staff the prayer journey – out on the terrace around the Cliff Cross.
We need people to welcome those coming on site and to point Festival-goers in the right direction. This is a vital role…..think of the impact of those who welcomed guests to London 2012! You never know what might come your way, but you’d be part of a team who will help you give the right answer! You could be stewarding a venue, serving communion, supervising the car park, managing the chaotic fun of the activity trailer. You can sign up to do this for the whole weekend, or perhaps you’d like to sign up for just a day.
We need people who have technical AV know-how. Would you be willing to be part of a team who work mainly behind the scenes but who essentially make Festival happen? You’d need to come with some experience, but this is also a great opportunity to grow in your skills and knowledge of sound desks, PA rigs, lighting, filming and projection etc. If you would like more specific information, please get in touch via email@example.com
We need people who can help serve the team and volunteers breakfast and lunch. This involves preparing the food and clearing up – and is a great way to make a vital contribution to the weekend. Service with a smile!
We need folk to help prepare the site, to weed and feed, lift and shift, and of course over the actual weekend help with venue turnover as needed. Calling all gardeners, manual workers and folks who like to get stuck in!
We need folk to help with housekeeping, cleaning, bed making, servicing washrooms, and yes the famous Bog Squad returns! For those who like a fresh and sweet smelling site!
