Evangelism and Christian Mission

Evangelism and Christian Mission is a ten-week online course, using Cliff College's online learning platform.

Evangelism Christian mission

From the beginning, Christians have recognised a calling to share the good news about Jesus with others. The first Christians were sent (‘apostles’) to the world, and through the centuries, the Christian faith has spread through practices of mission and evangelism. In this course, Evangelism and Christian Mission, students will be introduced to the theological understanding of the Missio Dei – the mission of God – as well as to various forms and models of evangelism through history.

This course will enable students to recognise and develop evangelistic practices for Christian mission and ministry today. It can be taken as an online course, or as a hybrid course with one day of teaching taking place onsite at Cliff College. The online learning elements will include written content, short videos, discussion boards and online exercises. Students will also be encouraged to pursue independent study, using resources provided, to reflect on their development in ministry and prepare for an assessment.

This course can be taken by itself, but can also be taken as part of the Foundations for Mission and Ministry programme. The Foundations programme is made up of this and five other units taken over two years. For more information on this programme, contact enquiries@cliffcollege.ac.uk.

This course will be available from April 2025 and is taught in ten sessions over ten weeks, with a further five weeks to prepare and submit your assessment. The first and last sessions are live seminars which you will need to attend either online or onsite at Cliff College; the dates for these sessions will be available in early 2025.

The other eight sessions are designed for independent study and are made up of video content, reading, written tasks and other creative activities to help consolidate your learning. These can be done at any time in the week that suits you. We recommend that you allow two hours of learning for each session, plus time for reading and assessment preparation.

Throughout the course you will have opportunities through scheduled online meetings to check in with Cliff College staff, discuss your learning and experience of the course, seek guidance on assessments and ask any questions you have.

You can apply for this course here. This course costs £360, including access to all teaching materials and tutorial support throughout your course. This does not cover the cost of any meals or accommodation if you choose to attend the lecture day at Cliff College rather than attending online.

Applications for this programme will open in April 2024. If you have any questions about the course or would like to be informed when applications open, please contact enquiries@cliffcollege.ac.uk.
