Courses available in spring and summer 2024

Cliff College offers courses all year round, and we have five exciting learning opportunities available in spring and summer 2024.

Learn online

Christian Spirituality and Issues Facing the Church Today are majority-online courses that will equip you for mission and ministry in your local church and community. You'll be studying alongside other students, with some live lectures and other learning that you can do at a time and in a place that suits you. The assessments for these courses are designed to help you see how to practically apply your learning in your own context. Both courses start on 29 April and last ten weeks, followed by another five weeks to prepare and submit your assessment. They cost £360 each, and there are bursaries available for Methodist students.

Learn on campus

Faith in Change and Conflict is taught by Place for Hope and offered as part of the Methodist Church's Positive Working Together initiative. The course is designed to help you understand conflict and change in faith communities, and how it can be transformational rather than destructive. Teaching takes place over two three-and-a-half day blocks, from 22-25 April and from 10-13 June. The course costs £250, with overnight accommodation at Cliff College available at an additional cost.

Women in the Bible is a weekend course exploring the lives and stories of wise women and prophetesses in the Bible and what they can teach us today. It runs from 10-12 May and costs £150, with overnight accommodation available for an additional £99.

Old Testament in a Week is a five-day course designed to give you an overview of the entire Old Testament! Gain a sense of the overall narrative and historical context of Scripture, and consider how it speaks to our 21st century world. It runs from 22-26 July and costs £300, with overnight accommodation available for an additional £198.

Studying at Cliff College has been an amazing way for me to dig deeper into my faith. It’s enabled me to learn more about the Christian faith which will be useful as I serve in ministry and encounter people who have questions, whilst also letting me form my own opinions.
