Explore Digital Theology and Mission at Cliff College
We live in a digital age - but are our theology and mission still stuck in analogue? Cliff College's Digital Theology units on our MA Theology and Mission programme offer students an opportunity to critically reflect on digital culture and explore what digitally-informed discipleship, worship, reading of Scripture and missional practices look like in today's online world.
Digital Theology units
| Digital Theology | In this unit, students will engage in contextual and constructive theological reflection on emerging digital culture. Integrating resources from scripture, theology and digital discourses, students will explore the emerging discipline of ‘digital theology’ and unpack the impact of digitality on the development of Christian doctrine. | Available in January 2027 |
| Digital Church and Mission | This unit investigates how digital culture shapes the practices of Christian faith and mission across the globe. Students will have an opportunity to reflect critically on contemporary digital church and online mission, as well as to develop digitally-informed practices for worship and evangelism. | Available in April 2027 |
| The Bible in a Digital Age | This unit explores how engagement with the Bible has been transformed by and in contemporary digital culture. Students are encouraged to develop understandings and uses of the Bible that are critically conversant with relevant topics of digitality, such as artificial intelligence and the materiality of media. | Available in January 2028 |
Postgraduate study at Cliff College
Cliff College exists to equip and inspire ambassadors of the joyful news of Jesus. Our MA Theology and Mission is designed to help students explore missional theology and practice in depth, to inform and enhance their own engagement in the work of God’s Kingdom. These digital units are part of a portfolio of MA units that will prepare disciples to lead, serve and minister in church and community contexts in today's world.
Cliff College is an approved partner of The University of Manchester, developing programmes delivered by Cliff College, approved by and leading to an award of The University of Manchester. The MA Theology and Mission programme can be taken to postgraduate certificate, diploma or degree level.
