Exploring Children, Youth and Families Ministry

Exploring Children, Youth and Families Ministry is a ten-week online course, using Cliff College's online learning platform.

The development of ministry among children, youth and families is a growing concern for the church today. This missional topic covers a wide range of activities, from the development of intergenerational worship on the one hand, to specific age- and stage-related discipleship activities on the other. In this course, Exploring Children, Youth and Family Ministry, students will be introduced to key perspectives and skills for engaging in ministry and mission among children, youth and families. Students will have the opportunity to reflect on their own developing vocation in this area.

Exploring Children, Youth and Families Ministry is an online course, with learning elements including written content, short videos, discussion boards and online exercises. You will also be encouraged to pursue independent study, using resources provided, to reflect on your development in ministry and prepare for an assessment. For more information on this programme, contact enquiries@cliffcollege.ac.uk.

This course will be available from April 2025 - the start date will be confirmed closer to the time. The course is taught in ten sessions over ten weeks, with a further five weeks to prepare and submit your assessment. The first and last sessions are live seminars which you will need to attend either online or onsite at Cliff College - the dates for these will be confirmed in early 2025.

The other eight sessions are designed for independent study and are made up of video content, reading, written tasks and other creative activities to help consolidate your learning. These can be done at any time in the week that suits you. We recommend that you allow two hours of learning for each session, plus time for reading and assessment preparation. The assessment will usually include writing an essay or creative article, recording a short presentation and completing some online exercises.

Throughout the course you will have opportunities through scheduled online meetings to check in with Cliff College staff, discuss your learning and experience of the course, seek guidance on assessments and ask any questions you have.

This course costs £360, including access to all teaching materials and tutorial support throughout your course. Applications for this course will open in summer 2024. For more information, please contact us on enquiries@cliffcollege.ac.uk.
