In 2024, Cliff College assisted with two venues, Hope & Anchor and the Discovery centre. Hope & Anchor was a space for kids to come and chill out, get a slushie, and play games. It hosted several events, including a karaoke evening and a session where kids could pitch ideas, which one of our Cliff Year students described as, ‘a great way to get youth groups involved in the church and present their ideas of what they’d like to see.’
The Discovery centre was a place for people to come and learn more about God through theological sessions, such as ‘Why does God allow suffering’, ‘Becoming an agent of change’ and ‘Getting your voice heard in church’. One of the Cliff Year students said, ‘I had two girls I connected with on a deeper level that kept coming back to the venue I was working in’ allowing them to discuss faith and Bible in more depth.
Following the weekend, our students said, ‘I feel like we all got closer’ over the weekend and that, ‘everyone was working exceptionally hard.’
